Katherine Lemieux Obituary

Katherine Lemieux

Katherine (Grill) Lemieux passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, March 5, 2024, at the age of 94.  In the precious days and weeks before her passing mom was cared for by her family with the help from the great caregivers of Creston Home Care and her wonderful Palliative nurse Courtney.

With family by her side sharing special moments with mom in song and prayer. Mom's Spirit is strong and she felt such a purpose. Compassionately praying for God's good Love, Grace and Mercy to cover us all.

She especially loved and appreciated all those who kept her in God's Grace, Father Lawerence lovingly and often Blessed mom and gave Last Rites. Tuesdays and Thursdays were the specialist of days,  when Eucharistic ministers and devoted friends Lynette and Colleen would bless mom with the Holy Body of Christ. May God Bless you all!

Mom rallied from deaths bed many times and recently enjoyed her final physical Christmas and Birthday surrounded by family and friends. Reminiscing lifes precious moments shared with those who were able gather. Laughing and crying, kisses and hugs, and even a few hands of cards with her faithful visitors.

A devoted and faithful servant of God, liturgical minister, prayer leader, Katherine knew great love just as she loved greatly. She is a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Katherine is survived by her loving children, Marie-Therese (George) Huscroft, Jo-Anne (Derry) Krajewski, Marc (Nadia), Michael (Denise), and Gerard (Carol); grandchildren, André (Stacey), Joshua, Chantelle, Marc, Christian (Amanda), Justin, Isaac, Olivia, Isaiah, Ayrielle, Noelle, Danté, Edy, Rachelle, Michelle; great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Sarah, Camdyn, Ashton, and Joelle; siblings, Trudy (Wayne) and Stella (Alan); and sisters-in-law, Lorraine and Bernadette. She was predeceased by her loving husband Andy; son Paul; daughter-in-law Daryl-lynne (Evenson); parents, William and Theresa (nee Bolen) Grill; siblings, Joe, Marianne, John, Gerald, and Bill; numerous loved in-laws; nephews and nieces.
Katherine was born at home near Vanguard, SK. She married the love of her life Andy and enjoyed 59 years of marriage, filled with much love, laughter, hard work and laundry.  She faithfully attended Mass, sang in choir, led readings and devoutly prayed the Rosary for family, friends, her faith community and those in need every day.  She served as a lay Franciscan and was a 75 year long-standing CWL member.

Thank you to all of the doctors and nurses entrusted with her care over the years and in her last months. Katherine loved her caregivers and they reciprocated.  Thank you also to the amazing community of her families and friends, whose support meant so much to mom and our family.
